I'm not a big thrash metal fan myself, but I really enjoyed listening to Attack of the Wrath of the War of the Death of the Strike of the Sword of the Blood of the Beast. It is deserving to be called classic!

I liked Hanzelle’s two songs well enough to buy them, which I can’t say for many of the other bandcamp acts reviewed on this site in 2011, so I ranked them higher than many others who may have released more songs.

Also, I didn’t rank Tyler, the Creator at all. It’s because you ranked him as your #1 pick that he ranked on the joint list. And yeah, I don’t care for most rap, though some of it, if it flows with the rest of the song, isn’t so bad. Maybe I am starting to get accustomed to some of it. But Tyler’s form of rap is not for me.

I probably would have favored Hanzelle more if I liked their first album. I enjoy their newest release, but it only has 2 songs. As much as I liked them, I can’t put them in a Top 10.

I’m also fairly surprised you ranked Tyler, The Creator so high. I thought you did not care for rap?

Emilie Autumn has almost a quarter of a million listeners on Last.fm, with over 13 million scrobbles, so she has a significant, established fan base. I’ve heard some of her music before when it came up on random play on Last.fm radio, and I’ve even marked a couple of her songs as Loved Tracks on Last.fm, because they struck a chord in me.

How much I like her music at any given time depends on the mood I’m in, and I don’t think I would ever, as you say, listen to her album, or even one track, 20 times on repeat. But her songs are definitely worthy of listening to in moderation on randomly-generated playlists. Thanks for spotlighting her!
