#3: Girls Generation – The Boys
Some say that Korean pop is an acquired taste. Perhaps it is, being that it’s much more influenced by R&B and dance than Europe, Japanese, and American pop combined. The fact there are nine members may also have something to do with their unique sound, as the Asian markets generally tend to favor multi-singer groups instead of the solo artist.
Girls Generation is one of the bigger names of the Kpop realm, so it’s no surprise the album “The Boys” makes it high on my list.
The album is a solid follow-up to “Oh!” which only had Run Devil Run as an enjoyable song. While “The Boys” has a few weak moments smack-dab in the middle, I find myself listening to it in its entirety much more than Girls Generation previous effort.
A good album has a few singles and a few good songs. A better album means you can’t tell which song is a single and which isn’t.
I really like your #3 pick, though I’d never heard them before.
